Informing and well written. As much I knew that I actually knew next to nothing about Islam, this piece highlighted my ignorance, but also has made me very interested in reading about progressive Islam thought. The site itself is really interesting – should check it out just to get a better understanding of the world if anything: http://www.muslimwakeup.com.

Again, these kind of writings and explorations, challenge things that are taught as fact (in this case expressed in the news as “fact”) – really cool.

 I’m just wondering if this information about women wearing the Hijab (Muslim head scarf) is simply new to me? I’m interested in hearing from someone from the Islamic faith – is this common knowledge to Muslims?
